Franco Albini

Franco Albini was a pioneering Italian architect and designer whose work played a crucial role in shaping modern Italian design during the mid-20th century. Born in 1905, Albini combined rationalist principles with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and traditional materials, resulting in designs that were both intellectually rigorous and elegantly simple. His furniture, such as the iconic "Margherita" chair and the minimalist "Infinito" bookcase system, exemplifies his ability to fuse aesthetics with functionality. Albini also made significant contributions to architecture and urban design, including work on the Milan Metro in the 1960s. His legacy endures through a body of work that continues to inspire for its clarity, innovation, and refined modernism.
