Ico Parisi, Luisa Aiani

Ico Parisi and Luisa Aiani were a dynamic Italian design duo whose collaborative work significantly contributed to mid-20th-century modernism. Ico Parisi, originally trained as an architect and deeply influenced by the rationalist movement, brought a structural and experimental approach to design. Luisa Aiani, a trained designer and Parisi’s wife, played a vital role in the creative process, particularly in textile and interior design. Together, they founded the studio “La Ruota” in Como, where they explored the fusion of architecture, furniture, and decorative arts. Their work is characterized by bold forms, elegant proportions, and an integration of fine craftsmanship with industrial techniques. Often collaborating with leading manufacturers like Cassina, the Parisis produced innovative, expressive pieces that remain celebrated for their originality and timeless sophistication.
