Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison is a British industrial designer celebrated for his quiet, minimalist aesthetic and a philosophy he describes as “Super Normal”—design that blends seamlessly into everyday life without demanding attention. Born in London in 1959, Morrison studied at Kingston Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art, later refining his vision at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. He rose to prominence in the 1980s with pieces like the Thinking Man’s Chair, and went on to collaborate with iconic brands such as Vitra, Flos, Magis, Alessi, and Muji. Morrison’s designs, including the widely acclaimed Glo-Ball light and Air Chair, are known for their understated elegance, functional clarity, and timeless appeal. With studios in London, Paris, and Tokyo, he has influenced global design by proving that the most effective objects are often the least conspicuous—ones that support life rather than distract from it.
