Konstantin Grcic



Konstantin Grcic is a renowned German industrial designer known for his minimalist yet inventive approach that combines geometric clarity with practical function. Born in Munich in 1965, he trained as a cabinetmaker before studying industrial design at the Royal College of Art in London, where he was influenced by Jasper Morrison. Since founding his own studio in 1991, Grcic has created iconic pieces such as the Chair_ONE, May Day lamp, and OK lamp, which showcase his skillful balance of technology, craftsmanship, and subtle wit. His work, featured in major museums like MoMA and the Centre Pompidou, reflects a philosophy that prioritizes rational simplicity and user-centered design, making everyday objects both functional and visually striking.
