Patricia Urquiola



Patricia Urquiola is a celebrated Spanish-born, Milan-based designer and architect known for her innovative, playful, and human-centered approach to design. Born in Oviedo in 1961, she studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano, where she was mentored by renowned designers such as Achille Castiglioni. Urquiola’s work spans furniture, interiors, product design, and architecture, and she is recognized for blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology and a distinct sensitivity to form and material. She has designed for leading international brands including Moroso, B&B Italia, Cassina (where she became Art Director in 2015), Kartell, and Haworth. Her designs are often colorful, tactile, and experimental, positioning her as one of the most influential voices in contemporary design.
